What we collect
Silver by the Pound does not have accounts, forms, a newsletter or comments. You never need to register or give us any personal information to use any page or tool. We do not sell personal information, and we have none to sell.
Calculator inputs stay in your browser
Weights, purities, prices and quantities you enter into our pound, premium and scrap calculators are processed entirely in your own browser. They are not transmitted to us, not stored on our servers, and not logged. We never see what you own or what you were quoted.
Live price checks
On pages that show a live price, your browser may re-check the silver spot price from our data provider, gold-api.com, while the page is open. That request carries no personal information beyond what any web request carries (such as your IP address), and it is handled under gold-api.com's own policies. The site's other prices are fetched by our build process, not by your browser.
Affiliate links (Augusta Precious Metals)
Some links on this site go to Augusta Precious Metals and carry a tracking parameter
(sub_id=silverbythepound) identifying this site as the referrer, so that we can be credited if
you become a customer. This costs you nothing. Once you reach Augusta's website, its own
privacy policy applies, including any cookies it sets. See our full
disclosure.
Fonts
Pages load the Playfair Display and Inter typefaces from Google Fonts. When they load, your browser sends Google a request that includes your IP address, handled under Google's privacy policy. The site works without them; your browser falls back to system fonts.
Hosting and logs
The site is served by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, pages requested and browser type) for security and operations, under Vercel's privacy policy.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set cookies of its own and does not currently run an analytics service. If that changes, this page will name the provider first, and where the law requires consent for cookies we will ask for it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California (CCPA/CPRA) and the EU/UK (GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because we hold no accounts, profiles or messages, there is nothing on our side to access or delete. Standard hosting logs are kept and deleted by our hosting provider under its own policy, and requests about them are handled under that policy.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
